Tom & Rayma on The Great American Loop
On May 31, 2025, this trio started a long-planned adventure of doing the Great American Loop - follow along as Tom and Rayma navigate the waters of much of the eastern United States.
The Journey Ahead
The Great Loop - a multi-year 6,000-mile journey around the eastern United States and Canada’s interconnected water passages - loosely as appears in this map.
Tom and Rayma, captaining their power catamaran “Our Delite”, plan to do the Loop in three segments: Starting June 2025, to travel from Annapolis heading north up the Hudson River to the Erie Canal and then westward to Buffalo. Then across Lake Erie to Detroit and up through Lake St. Claire and into Lake Huron, eventually making their way to Chicago. Somewhere south of Chicago, the 2025 leg will end.
In 2026, Our Delite will head south on the Mississippi to Mobile, Alabama, or thereabouts. And finally, in 2027, south along the Gulf Coast around Florida and north along the Inter-coastal Waterways of the Atlantic, back to Annapolis.
